Boracay

Boracay did not disapoint me at all, even if it was constantly raining and winds were blowing hard and it was really cold at times in night time...It didn't bother me at all. Just being there, I really appreciated the beauty of my own country.

Sunday, 30th July 2006. I was with Vianney, Bel, Red, Marj, Jamih and his fiancee Teng, and Pipe and his girlfriend Mira. Our scheduled flight was 20 mins delayed from ETD due to over turn something that planes do (what do you call that?! sound like). Anyway I was a bit anxious given that it was my first time to fly and it was raining. I'm trying not to think about slippery runway, cloudy skies, windy weather, thunder and lightning bolts...though the thought past my mind a couple of times..then I remember superman saying that It's still the safes way to travel with his drop-dead smile...hehehe. It was a 40 min or less travel going to kalibo. The wait at NAIA was longer than the actual travel.
Then we got into a shuttle bus that took us to a sea port to ride a boat going to boracay. And even before stepping a toe in boracay island, I got a little souvenir, a really long scratch (plus now pasa all over it)after missing the boat ledge and scratching it in the side of the boat. I had to put 4 bandaids (lenghtwise) just to cover it before we get to the resort. It was already late at night when we got to boracay.
We strolled a couple of meters along Station 3 to 2 to grab dinner. Cheap dinner, I hoped, no one was selling hotdogs anymore(My whole stay ko I never got to eat hotdog..nasa must-try list pa namana yun). The food prices was a bit high...then they served it and I realize that the serving was already good for two people...probably american serving for people with big appetite. *sigh* it was really late and rainy, dinner was served really late, my leg was stinging from the bruise...I was thinking, this should not dampen my spirit.

Monday, 31st July 2006. I was hoping to get a video of the boracay sunrise.. chances was slim coz it was raining the night before. I woke up Vianney at 6:30 and asked her to go out so that we could catch the sunrise...and I got this expression in Vianney's face like Are you crazy? I didn't know that the sun rises way earlier than 6am?!? LOL! Oh well we went out while the others were busy changing, and walked along the shoreline of Station 3. It was really nice.Perfect! the waves were just calming and nice and fresh.
Then it rained... right when all of us were trying to figure out where to eat and what to do. So we ate breakfast at english place, after that I called manong rudy the one doing 'marketing' for an island hoping tour at the other side of the island where waters are clamer. We decided to do that. Wow, if only I have a underwater camera(or maybe someone had lend me one - tamaan sana yung meron dyan), we went snorkling at crocodille island, I could really see schools of tiny little colorful fishes, one with zebra stripes, another with brazil flag colors, they were all swimming away when I try to touch them. Too bad I didn't see a nemo.

Next stop is this private island called crystal cove. While our boat captain cooks lunch+dinner for us we explored the island. The underwater cave was really beautiful. Felt like a secret hide-away of mermaids and mermen...then we explored the view on top of the island.WOW! breathtaking. You could see islands like poping on top of a clear blue sea. Nice. Really nice. Not exagerating, really really WOW! And we could really see rain clouds going our way.hahaha!
We ate one of the best meals I had in the island.Inihaw! the best.
We were suppose to go to another island but decided not to since the weather was getting a little worst. It was the end of the day for me and vianney. The others still went out after getting cleaned up. And a few minutes they went back in the room after being drench by rain..hehehehe..

Tuesday, 1st August 2006. Weather forecast today entails cloudy skies and couple of thunder storms. But the weather this day was far more better than the day before. I finally saw a glimpse of the sun (not the sunrise nor sunset *sigh*) and we walked from station 3 to station 1 (3 times!back and forth). Time for pasalubong shopping. I really enjoyed saying Ano po last price nito? hehehehe haggling for better prices and looking for really nice souvenirs. I can't seem to do it here in manila. I wished I had more money with me but I was working on a budget, even though it was tempting to stay in boracay, I still want/need to get back in manila...can't do that with out money. I bought a few pasalubongs for people who I thought of on top of my head. Got to take a picture with sand castles, but you pay donation for it.

Ate at Binalot for lunch, super sulit cause their serving was twice the amount they serve here in manila. And went swimming at the beach while it was rainning really hard like little pellet bullets hitting my skin. Then we ate at Jonas a-must-try according to teacher pao. The Fruit shake was great! Honest! you have to try it! for 75 pesos super sulit! and their potato soup was also great espcially since it was raining (heheh pero nag fruit shake pa rin kami) Finally (with after 3 walks form station 1 to 3) we decided to call it a night a rode a tricycle back to Orchids resort

Wednesday, 2nd August 2006. It was time to pack our bags again and head back to manila. Our accomodations at Orchids Resort wasnt bad at all, tipid place talaga. There were still room for improvement though like having tolettries, or phone/intercom in the room instead of having to go to the front desk everytime we needed something, and the 1 bathroom for 9 (hmm dont think that could change pa), I'd give it a 7 out of 10. The room price was really good, they made arrangements for our transfer from kalibo to boracay, room was relatively clean when we got there, and could accomodate all 9 of us. Off to Manila. The weather was already sunny, wished we could have stayed another day. hehehehe. I will surely go back to Boracay one of these days
