Show Name Drop

Posted by jeng_is_cute at 09:03 PM on April 2, 2007.

* I'm not sure if 300 is still showing but I did like the movie. Not just because it was full of hunky men barely wearing anything, I liked the whole concept of it. Reminds me of Kingdom of Heaven but the effects were far more advance.

* Watched Gay Birds at Onstage last friday with my officemates (plus 1 with date). if you had watched Birdcage, Robbin William's movie back in the 90's, the movie was very similar to the play... Of course with this play however there was the Filipino twist. Lot's of gay linggo. Too bad the play ended yesterday, I would recommend watching it.

On TV surfing..

* Pinoy Big Brother Season 2 - prime time at home have become Kapamilya TV already! hahahaha.. confirmed na.. the only series that we don't watch is Flor De Luna... I like PBB just because its funny, kahit walang Sam Milby sa loob ng bahay ni Kuya.

* Amazing Race - All Stars - Maybe its not that interesting anymore, since Rob and Amber got eliminated, but I'm still watching it because we have an ongoing Bet here in the office. hehehehe.

* American Idol - Damn I sure hope Sanjaya gets booted out of the show this week. I think he is winning because VFTW is supporting him.

A couple of my illegally downloaded stuff...

* Death Note and Death Note the Last Name - Death Note is a notebook of the Death God that kills any human being when his/her name is written down in it. So what would you do when you are given the Death Notebook? Whose name should you write first? hehehehe.

* Goong S (Prince Hoo)- Fan of Goong (Princess Hours)?? Well I am! hehehe... And this is the second installment of the series, though the two are totally unrelated. Even though this Korean series started weak (imho) I've grown to like watching it... I like se7en na! (hehehe although Kim Jeong Hoon pa rin ako)

* Ugly Betty - Will be aired in Studio 23. Actually its mababaw if you are the type who prefers Grey's Anatomy over My Name is Earl. I enjoy watching it just because...

Pranksters?

Posted by jeng_is_cute at 09:57 PM on April 4, 2007.

Hmm.. if you happen to know who they are and you think I actually met them, tell me ok? So I can actually add them...Well been asking around the office if they know who owns the YM IDs (was thinking ka-officemate ko na may itatanong or something) but none of them, who I've asked knew, so I blew it off as pranksters... hahaha...di kami close?! buwahahaha... where the hell did they get my YM ID in the first place? Jeng- suplada sa personal.

see even Se7en has this weird look in his face, sabi niya Sino yan? Cutie ni Se7en noh!

Oh Well Papel...
picked that up from Mariel during PBB Uplate, for some weird reason it makes me smile saying it over and over again with matching *sigh*

Blog Name Drop

Posted by jeng_is_cute at 04:35 PM on April 5, 2007.

Happen to pass by Anton's Pinay Celebrity Blog entry... so first if you don't know Anton, he's this IT guy by day, who happen to be a well-known (in my circle of friends anyway) as a travel/photo-blogger... and no I don't know him personally. He listed down 10 pinay celebrity blogs who happen to find time in their celebrity statuettes to actually blog like normal geeky people do (hehehe). Here are some of them… I happen to like Ala Paredes' Blog since she got featured in MPH before her family migrated to Australia. She expresses herself well in a very subtle way. Like you know she’s a very smart person to talk to. And we do share the same real name but with different spelling (wala lang, had to share that tiny detail) I also liked Pia Magalona's Blog when I learned thru Francis Magalona's Multiply that his wife has a huge Havaianas collection. I think I had a phase when I told myself this is a nice hobby to do, collect colorful trendy havies...but got my senses back and said that its just really nice (and expensive) flip flops, not for me. But I do understand why most people say that it’s better than tsinelas, because it’s really comfy to walk in. Found out Daphne Osena had a flicker because of the croc accident email going around. Love her show Urban Zone, I think I mentioned that in my Vote for Chiz Escudero Entry:big grin: Oh Patty Laurel’s Blog is ok... Thought I should join her We Hate Cute Boys Club hahahaha… ang kulit – oh in a very sad way. Finally, I find KC Concepcion and Bianca Gonzales blogs very entertaining in a good way of course. I must admit that some how I have stereotypical artista/sikat idea of who they are. Syempre, it’s not true cause I don’t even know them personally but you know how people are generally. Ah basta, try to figure out na lang what I mean. I just find the blogs equally as nice reads.

*** Since I’m in the mood of blog name dropping might as well share some blogs I visit often not because I know these people but because I find some value in them to visit them (Walang a-angal! Hahaha) * Rickey.Org is the best place to keep yourselves updated in US TV series. And Pinoy.Rickey.Org is the best place to update yourself in Kapuso TV and a little some some Kapamilya and other station TV shows. *Pinoy Travel Blog - I dream of making y blog into one of this... A couple of travels more.. just you wait! Hahahaha! Kidding! * The Ross Blog - Love Ross from Jay Leno’s Ross the Intern segment in the Tonight Show. I might start my blogs with Hello Blog Buddies!…or give it a twist and say Thats a rap blog buddies!

Windows Problems

Posted by jeng_is_cute at 09:38 PM on April 14, 2007.

I am not a hardcore tech-windows-debugger person but I know when something is wrong with my PC.Argh! I'm itching to impulsively reformat my PC right now... grr kakakainis...

I normally start my geek PC day by opening my explorer browser to clubbox website to start downloading my korean series... and then this odd thing pops up on top of my explorer browser. I wasn't sure how long was my browser been that way but I only noticed it today...

Then I thought oh probably some nothing-to-do-good-with-his-lowly-life person send something over the internet for April Fools or Easter and one of us here at home open something something from out emails (or from somewere) then got infected by it. So started running ALL these series of virus checker anti-spyware to check...but nothing biggie was found, a couple of illegal trackers and that was it. So I moved on to checking the usuals, emails, sites, etc. etc.

A few hour later, I decided to pop in the CD that tita rowie burned for me... series of english subbed Hana Yori Dango Live action, the Jap version (if that title sounds familiar to you, its probably because you watched Meteor Garden - Gets?) Well anyway, to my shock my PC warned me that there was not enough Virtual Memory to run my application. What the?! Its not posible since (other than the usual stuff that Windows runs) I only have a browser open and clubbox running in the background. First impluse, I thought of running the disk clean-up thing to free up those temp internet files... So pressed START and guess what's missing in my Start menu?

Where the hell is my PROGRAM files link go? I'm not dumb enough to delete or disable something I always use right? I'm starting to get pissed.Grr talaga!!What is going on???

Then I pressed CTRL-ATL-DELETE to open Task Manager. And I prompted with this...

Biatch! The last time I checked I AM the administrator of this PC and I don't recall disabling my task manager...Hay naku naiinis na talaga ako.

Troubleshooting101
So started searching google how does a task manager gets enabled/disabled. I only found out today that you could do such a thing (Did you?). Got me to this site: Enable/Disable Task Manager and I did what other stupid people do to their PC. Download the application linked to it and prayed that it works, risking my PC to more possible virus damages- well stupid. But it worked! And Thank God its freeware, but you could help up the guy who put up the site by contributing.

So after my task manager popped up (halleluya!) check Processes to find out whats running in my PC. For some reason the dummy who made virus that infected my PC doesn't want to Task Manager shown, he is hidding something in the background - My Sherlock Holmes instincts told me (hehehe). So browsed thru the list of unknown files to me and googled what each application(.exe) was for...and found the darm culprint running in my PC. Its "wscript.exe". There were about 7-10 of these running in and was eating up several thousand bytes of Memory Usage.
"If a process named wscript.exe is running on your computer, you may have been infected with a strain of the Vbswg.Aq worm.

wscript.exe is considered to be a security risk, not only because antivirus programs flag Vbswg.Aq Worm as a virus, but also because a number of users have complained about its performance."

Soooo thats why I ran out of Virtual Memory Space. Anyway as of the moment I have no cure for it yet. Just End-Process each of those running trojan in my PC. Damn anti-virus didn't see it.

So I haven't figured out how to return my Program Files menu in the Start button so I switched to Win-classic view for the mean time. I guess the good-for-nothing-I-hope-he/she-drops-dead-face-first person who created this trojan didn't thought that there are 2 types of Start Menus and only deleted/disabled the one in the Start Menu.

I don't know what else is infected in my PC =(

Realization
Times like this, I wish I was using MAC instead of Windows. For a million reasons!! Starting with getting infected with a virus/trojan and making us meager users pay for it. If you think about it, in a perfect PC world with none of these virus/trojan problems, companies like TREND-MICRO would be out of business. So I guess there will always be market for no-good-virus-trojan doers. Law of Demand and Supply - they need the virus supply so there could be a demand for anti-virus. Grr!

As for my urge to format my PC... hay really need to back up soon and figure out how to install that Windows XP installer. I vaguely remember the guy who put up my PC together telling me that I have to call some damn hotline to activate my XP. Grr! Ganun ba talaga?? Oh yah, I paid around 5,000+ bucks just to buy a legal copy of my Windows XP to avoid these kind of problems and yet no matter how up to date their security updates are...hay use less Windows.

Me and my dumbself...

Posted by jeng_is_cute at 07:58 PM on April 19, 2007.

Grr! nauto nanaman ako... and no one is to blame but myself. I think it was last week when I unfortunately answered a phone call. It was about this privilege card that give discounts etc. Well on a normal day I would say No thank you, I'm not interested but I wasn't in the mood arguing to some agent trying to earn a living. Well I said OK. F*ck! that was soooooooooo stupid of me.. and that stupidity cost me 4800.00 pesos. God, where did my common sense go?

So now I'm stuck with the most walang kwentang discount card. Its 4800.00 that I can't even afford. Its soooo hassle to use! You know the GCs they gave..you have to call them pa to get a reservation code. nyeta! hay naku a!

Anyone who knows to use this damn privilege card? Please enlighten me kasi all I see is that I just throw 4800.00 down the drain.

Lost and Found!

Posted by jeng_is_cute at 11:43 PM on April 19, 2007.

For years that I've lived in our village, going outside our front gates, I've seen my neighbors lost labrador puppies that I was almosted tempted to puppynap... and another's furry cat, that eats more expensive food that I do... and a shitszu with its leash loose, barking early morning while I'm in the middle of my rem cycle...lost askals who had nothing to do before than to woo our doggy (may she rest in peace)... and those lost puskals that I hate coz' they killed our baby chicks - one of a heart attack (bel knows the story) and also scratched killed my 2 rabbits. You pets, who owns you letting you out in the streets?

Tonight, I couldn't believe what my neighbor could lost and accidentally bring infront of our house this time.

Its a Turtle!

Found it sitting right infront or our gate. At first I thought it looked like a big toad. Whoever owns this turtle probably doesn't know he/she is missing it. How I may ask, could you lose a turtle? Poor thing, I don't even know what to feed it.

I am Wealthy!

Posted by jeng_is_cute at 01:06 AM on April 25, 2007.

I was reading Bo Sanchez's new book 8 secrets of the Truly Rich and one of the chapter discuss...

Have you ever wondered why you don't get what you want? First because you don't really know what you want. Second big reason is that we don't want it bad enough.

Last October I posted in an entry that I'm opening an online website: Wild Daisy Shop mainly for the holidays to earn few extra pesos. Then eventually sales went down since people tried to recoup what they had spent for the holidays.

On my birthday last February, I also shared in an entry that I got as a birthday present (from van) "Simplify and Create Abundance" How to be really wealthy without robbing your soul by Bo Sanchez and this started my interest on being financially sensible. And now I find myself reading other entreprenurial books/magazines.

Well I guess now what I want is to make a change in my life starting with making my business work (Yup, 'this' despite of what everything else I'm doing with my life - work, bahay, blah blah..dami noh? hehehe). Why because I want it bad enough to work for it. This is my commitment.

***

Why am I sharing this to you my friend? Well partly because I do plan to target you as a future buyer in my entreprenurial ventures (hehehe). But mainly because I want you to know that you can be rich as well! (hahaha, have I gone looney again?) Well wouldn't the world be perfect if every person in this planet could eat 3 decent meals a day (ok, so maybe thats a little over shooting my goal - besides Angelina Jolie is already advocating it for the UN, so I guess I have to start somewhere else).

Have you ever felt that you don't always have enough (for your needs or maybe even wants) well I'm telling you now what I hope someone had told me early on, that you should be financially sensible. Educate yourself and realize that you have to make better choices. Otherwise you'll end up old aged and wrinkled, broke or worst still working to earn a living at 70+, and continue that mentality that living in another country or working abroad is the only way to get you out of being poor. Come on people stop, blamming the marcos stolen wealth as the reason why we are still a third world country... that was ages ago, if we want to get out of being a 3rd world then why haven't we done anything to work on it??

Metanoia

Posted by jeng_is_cute at 10:13 PM on April 29, 2007.

I met a good man today.

He stood in front of us to talk about Repentance and Faith. Oddly when he started to talk, I notice a familiar gesture... this gesture is particular to gay men. The soft spoken voice and the soft hands wavering back and forth as he introduces himself… “Hi I am Milo Bayona.” Then I thought to myself, is this guy gay or was I totally out of my senses since he is claiming to be a Christian Leader?

Later on during his talk he said something like “Dati akong Bading. Siguro naman mahalata niyo na sa boses ko.”…”Marami akong nagawa before na pinagsisihan ko at humingi ako ng tawad sa mga taong nasaktan ko at nagamit ko.”…”Nung humingi ako ng tawad, may pinagtawanan lang ako, meron naman nagtext na lang sa akin na kung yun daw ang gusto ko.” This is the first time in my life that I came across a guy in the flesh and saying that he was gay and now he has decided to change his ways.

Now, I won’t go into sharing anything that (I would think) will offend gay people. I have gay friends too and don’t think I have any right to judge or even give my personal opinion on being gay (It’s the same way when I don’t really enjoy people who say unsolicited opinion on me when they hardly even know me at all. Its vice-versa – gets??)

Well like I said, I met a good man today and his name is Milo Bayona. I found it amazing that he is committed to change and repent his ways and found his faith in God. It’s like forcing a habit of XX years to stop. Kinda like teaching old dogs new tricks. I could only imagine how hard it was for him and I guess that earned my respect. Galing bilib! He was even featured in Kerygma, July issue of 2006.

May I also find it in me the strength to move on this life and be the best person that I can be.

Metanoia according to meriam-webster is
Etymology: Greek, from metanoiein to change one's mind, repent, from meta- + noein to think, from nous mind
: a transformative change of heart; especially : a spiritual conversion

More PC rants..

Posted by jeng_is_cute at 12:59 PM on April 30, 2007.

I know there are 2 basic answers in my PC problem. First, is to reformat my PC and second it to buy myself a new PC. Well I would rather do the later but its not a choice for me right now. So... I know! I know! have to reformat the damn PC... huhuhu... but when will I have time to back-up everything. I can't even find installers for some of my old apps. Oh well papel.

So I've been wasting time deleting desktop.ini in every folder in my PC. Some how that little bug replicated itself all over my damn hard drives. Its not harmful of anything but it does take up space. I could only guess that it came from my old hard drives, files I've had since college. I've been having that desktop ini problem even back then. I know that reformatting my PC would cure it for now but later on I will still have the virus plaguing me. Oh well papel.

You know it serious when after I have deleted boot.ini in my bootable drive, my PC could still boot to windows. Boot.ini replicated itself! freaky... geeky! Oh well papel.

Its a PC Miracle!

Posted by jeng_is_cute at 12:15 AM on May 1, 2007.

So forget what I blogged earlier today! Delete Boot.ini! hahahaha! I'm kidding! but really my PC has been cured!

Ok so, I got it by merely luck but thank god nothing bad happen... I deleted all desktop.ini I found and all boot.ini, autorun.inf, rundll64.vbs, which was totally stupid if incase these system files are really legal. Well I'm going for the crash and burn scenario anyway. I would be forced to reformat my PC wehehehe... it happened to me once before so no harm doing it again.. hahaha.

I think its a flash drive virus that hit my PC. I think its my brother's flash drive that caused all of this, this just started about the same time he copied some MP3s from work. Tsk tsk tsk...and besides he mention that one of their PCs at work has the same Autoplay drive problem. Tsk tsk tsk!

Now, I could postpone formating again, yay!

Its Labor Day!

Posted by jeng_is_cute at 03:30 AM on May 1, 2007.

Its 3am! I'm still up, coz' there is no work today since its Labor day!! How ironic, huh?

Well anyway, trying to catch up on my TV series watching. Been reading Pinoy Brother Website... I'm totally lost with the Maricris and Bea issue. Last week its was fun fun fun and hospitality with slovenian Tina, now its like world war 3! And Maricris just got forced evicted! So youtube surfing for PBB clips.

Then I watched the season ender of Heroes Love that series 1 million times! And just found out why Peter Petrelli looked really familiar... because he played Jess in Gilmore Girls, Rory's bad-boy-but-really-charming-boyfriend! Oh trivia that I got from wiki, the guy who plays Nathan, Peter's brother, played Jess' dad in gilmore girls...Well anyway this was all back in those days when Gilmore Girls was under Warner. I love Hiro! and Isaac Mendez! How can they kill the painter guy who can see the future?! Love his special powers.

So now I'm youtube video hunting for Ross the Intern segment in the Tonight Show last Friday (US)/Saturday. Wasn't able to watch since I was staying over at Van's. But happen to come across one of the most funniest episodes I've watched.. this was almost over a year already, pre-Celebrity Fit Club! hehehehe

Well anyways will be sleeping soon, still have to go to Greenbelt later tonight for the Spiderman 3 movie.
