Good Morning Sunshine!

Posted by jeng_is_cute at 12:09 PM on May 2, 2008.

I feel really blessed. Yes, I still do have a lot of challenges... yet I feel more secure having God with me everyday, thru family and friends who are constantly praying for me. Being where I am now... amazing!

I love photoshop! Picture taken by jjerc and I edited. Happiness. hehehe. Will share again next time.

Jon & Kate plus Eight

Posted by jeng_is_cute at 11:59 PM on May 5, 2008.

I love watching this show in Discovery Home and Health! Basically its about Jon and Kate who have 2 sets of multiples. 6 years old twins, then 2 year old sextuplets = 8 set of kids! That enough is an interesting subject already, then first time I watched it made me a fan! I mean they editted the show in such a way that you are really meeting a family, family issues etc etc. Just now I finished watching an episode taken during christmas, Kate and Jon, had this christmas tradition where in the kids would pick up names in a basket who they will give gifts to for christmas (kinda like pinoy's monito-monita) - they said that they do this to make the kids thoughtful of their brothers and sisters. And during shopping they talk to their kids like normal people (not baby talking to them) and you can see they have smart kids, cause at 2 years old they could make decisions what to pick up for their monito.

Well I think its a lucky 8.

Photobucket

I love little Aaden, he's been put to timeout in this episode. He is sooo cute. with his tiny glasses, and then saying sorry to mommy for acting up. Awww. sweet. He's call the professor for his glasses and like to wear hats and sort of receding hairline. hehehe.

Hope you watch it if you can. Its really nice. Or you can read their story in this site.

Personal Sharing:
When I was young I was hoping I had a twin. Thinking maybe my mom have my twin adopted or something - now realizing its was an awful thought, but all I want is to have a twin. Then I thought it would be nice to have kids that are fraternal twins - one boy and one girl, so that you get two kids in one pop! hahaha. Hmm wasn't I weird? Well don't we all thought of having twins at all as a kid?

But I never thought of having more than twins as multiples. Exage! 3 or more kids at a time?

Ok now thinking of raising a kid like me doesn't really sounds good... hahaha. As attractive and uberly creative and smart my kid would probably be - taking that from me - It will be crazy! hahaha.

Ok this line of thought now has to stop

Its raining!

Posted by jeng_is_cute at 03:24 PM on May 6, 2008.

I love it that it is raining today... maybe I took this quote too literally, but I'm reminded that I am blessed and I am thankful for being where I am now.

"Expect to have hope rekindled.
Expect your prayers to be answered in wondrous ways.
The dry seasons in life do not last.
The spring rains will come again."

A Time for Everything

Posted by jeng_is_cute at 11:38 PM on May 9, 2008.

"If you ask me for anything in my name, I will do it." -John 14:14

This was part of the gospel reading Saturday a few weeks back. And I did ask God, and true enough that following Monday I got a call from the job that I've been praying for months now. Life is simply amazing. God is wonderfully amazing. So while my papers are being processed I thought really hard and realized that I think God (after all) paved this road for me, and I was meant to be here. One of these days I'll share with you my story about my road less travelled.

Today is my first day at work. I'm a officially an employee of Emerio Singapore as a Consultant.

Don't ask me what's my work, I haven't started on much and probably shouldn't answer it anyways, I don't know to what extent confidentially clauses cover here. But I just must say that I think everything is worth the wait. Thankful to God that my job is something I know I could excel at... I know I've been taught by the best people in the business. Need to step up and use that talent they honed me on.

Last let me close this entry with another Bible reading. This extra dedicated to my friends who are wanting change in their lives - yes this is what God wants to tell you.

*****
A Time for Everything

"Everything that happens in this world happens at the time God chooses.
He sets the time for birth and the time of death,
the time for planting and the time for pulling up,
the time for killing and the time for healing,
the time for tearing down and the time for building.
He sets the time for sorrow and the time for joy,
the time for mourning and the time for dancing,
the time for making love and the time for not making love,
the time for kissing and the time for not kissing.
He sets the time for finding and the time for losing,
the time for saving and the time for throwing away,
the time for tearing and the time for mending,
the time for silence and the time for talk.
He sets the time for love and the time for hate,
the time for war and the time for peace.
What do we gain from all our work? I know the heavy burdens that God had laid on us. He had set the right time for everything. He has given us a desire to know the future, but never gives us the satisfaction of fully understanding what he does. So I realize that all we can do is be happy and do the best we can while we are still alive. All of us should eat and drink and enjoy what we have worked for.
It is God's gift."
-Ecclesiastes 3:1-13

My Brain is Working again...

Posted by jeng_is_cute at 09:55 PM on May 14, 2008.

And for all the right reason. I guess, very challenging as my future holds for me... I think I am happier. I have VERY BIG shoes to fill right now, I'm not complaining just have to learn a lot more in a very short amount of time.

And besides to those of you who know the in-house training given by my former employer(yes those training that pass or fail trainees). lets just say that if I take it now (again) it would cost me around 15000SGD for 10 days of training. You don't believe me? visit the university. So I am so thankful for all my LEARN bookings! hahaha.

I know that I'm in Singapore already because I started having dreams where I talk to people in English... hahaha! ain't that weird??

De-stressing blog =)

Posted by jeng_is_cute at 10:13 PM on May 23, 2008.

Blog! Blog! I've never been more excited to blog. Today is my 10th day at work. Yes, if you haven't heard I have work! yey! I'm an Employment Pass (EP) Holder! coolness! I am so thankful I found a job I know I could really excel in (how many times have I told people that)... as for the pay, its good enough, could be better, but really not my concern right now. I'm working can you believe it! Now I could seriously look back at this entry and laugh at myself (click me!).

Nothing like the stress of work! I am loving it! Although its physically tiring - I've become an alaxan adik and I am running out of supplies. And to think I haven't started any real work yet. I've been reading A LOT of client documents lately. Something tells me expectations are high... no matter how I try to keep it low (for the time being). I am praying that they hire 1 more person to the team, so pray with me ok?! Right now I'm just going where the flow is since I'm in a new company that has its own set of standards. Actually when you look at it we almost have the same standards as my former employer, sometimes they just call things differently. Work is seriously challenging! Ah if only I'm at liberty I could tell you the day to day challenges I have... just looking forward to making this really work, because its seriously a really nice work experience... Amazing for my CV! hahaha. But before that happens, got to make my brain stretch a little farther than usual. I think I should stop pressing that panic button.

As for people at work. We have pinoys! Filipinos here are everywhere! Sometimes I forget that we are in a different country because chances are you get to be with Filipinos, in the MRT, while walking, hearing mass... there are always pinoy. So far pinoys have been really friendly in the office. Pinoys will always be pinoy, they love chismis! I get to know people in the office because they always tell stories about them. Chismis! And I think we always are the biggest group of people eating together during lunch, we tend to pull 2 or 3 chairs together.

Culturewise, sometimes I still get lost in translation, especially when things are meant to be a joke, I think I miss the punchline. Also I often say come again? because some people have really heavy singlish accent. And there are those who have a funky smell. But other than that life here is pretty much liveable.

Oh and I am now be forever be known by my real god given name... hahaha! Sometimes I will forget to look when someone calls my name! demmit... hahaha!

There are things I still miss with my old job. No.. not the work, hahaha, but the people I work with! And the office space, hahaha! But seriously I miss the people I've worked with. I've become attached to them and I was actually considered a senior when I left. But then as time pass slowly those seniors are starting to move on as well... I guess its time for an exodus after all... Its just a matter of striking while the iron is hot... Or recognizing an opportunity when it presents itself. Now, I find these kinds of things normal. Yes it is! People do find ways to make their life more than what they are now. There are those who constantly strive to make their lives better. Some choices are successful some are so so but as long as you have tired, its way better than being pessimistic and not doing anything about it. As what I've said to my friends, its either you be contented with your life right now (stop complaining! its your choice to be there) or do something about your life... and try to make some risk. Except for debt and paying taxes everything in life is only for now.

Anyway, share share, I enjoyed reading this article that makes me hope someday I could blog my own personal version.

A Software Developer's Career

Give me a happy pill.

Posted by jeng_is_cute at 07:58 PM on May 29, 2008.

*Sigh* I don't know what side of the bed I woke up on since my bed is only a single, but crap. My darn head hurts! I seriously woke up at the wrong side of the bed today. My day wasn't really that bad. It was just a normal work day... might have screwed a couple of times, starting from my MRT ride to work - I didn't catch the empty train when I should have! Demmit. I was just feeling kinda low. Seriously low.

I think I am now feeling what people call homesickness... oh yes, I think it finally came, and what better day to come in than today, right? When I am also having an information overload moment - in I.T. terms, not enough disk space to take all information in, or memory too low.. hahaha.

I just miss being home. Not really missing anyone in particular. Just miss being back home, and spending summer like summer - Beach, Trekking, Food trips, or something outdoors. Its not that my friends here aren't inviting me out, like going wakeboarding or something, but it sure is really different from spending it back home.

Anyways, in a really positive note. This Saturday my BFF Van will be coming over to visit! Yey!!! Maita and Van's tita is also arriving on Sunday. Although they will be trading me for a Malaysia vacation from Monday to Wednesday - booooo! hahaha. But they will be here till the next weekend so, it will be a tight schedule to meet up everyone we know who is here, plus scheduling activities that I could go to as well - you know I have that thing called work now, that pays my stay here.

Thank God tomorrow is Friday! We'll be watching Sex and the City. Hopefully it will not disappoint. My 4th movie in Singapore... first being The Love Story (not sure about the title but Local movie) and then Iron Man (I *heart* Robert Downey Jr.), lastly Speedracer (My ex-boyfriend Rain is there but we decided career comes first, LOL!).

And did I mention that Avenue Q musical will be staged here in Singapore!! Soooooo looking forward to watching it again. The Manila cast will be playing it! Love it! Almost everyone is from the original showing except for Rachael who played Kate monster is replaced. So I have already maked that one in my must see plays. So far I have watched 2 already here in Singapore, which I have yet to blog about. First is Dim Sum Dollies - History of Singapore (really funny, local production) and We Will Rock You (Mig Ayesa is great!)

Life is soo boring, isn't it? hahahaha Joke! I think I don't need that happy pill after all.
